Yoga is a system for wellbeing that was developed in India over 5,000 years ago. The world Yoga means to “unite”. It encompasses all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Yoga works on harmonizing the body with the mind and breath. There are many styles of Yoga such as Hatha, Ananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Restorative and many more. The speed and intensity of practice can vary tremendously from very gentle to high intensity and quick pace. All styles of Yoga have the intention to cultivate health and wellbeing through regular practice of poses, breathing, relaxation, self-awareness and meditation techniques.
